Yesterday was miserable. The temperature reached 87 or more. Hot, awful weather. I did very little. Okay, my plants got more potting soil and a bit of water. You know, because it's spring I wanted to bring my cactus and aloe vera back to life. But the heat was too much for me. I stayed in the house; I didn't even check the mail.
And then it happened. A few at first; a tapping on the air conditioners, the roof, the windows. On tv they warned of storms in a nearby county, not Robertson. But here it was- hail! HAIL! That means rain and lower temperatures! And OMG did it hail and rain.
My cactus, three in one pot, held up well. Today the world is leaf strewn, chilly, and wet. I'm in heaven. I love the rain and cold.

dry thumb
These plants are mine. Aloe vera and cactus thrive in hot weather. However, they would have died if my great neighbor Donnie had not watered them now and then. These are on the sidewalk; others are on an unused window air conditioner in my kitchen window.
(I took these at about 8pm when it was getting dark; the flash works quite well.)
