Locks on the Seine

As Mom and I walked across a pedestrian bridge in Paris, I noticed this sight. I cannot fathom why these locks are here. Often when I take a pictue I have a caption in mind. Not so this time. Just today I came up with this: Locks on the river Seine.

Triumph!

This is Mom at the Arc de Triumphe. We decided NOT to climb the steps to the top. However, we did enjoy walking around. Inside the arch (you can sort of see in the picture) is a huge French flag. Later that day we saw the Musee D'Orsay.

By the way, Mom, a coffee drinker almost gave up trying to find a 'decent' cup of American style coffee. We did find one-- at Starbucks! Lucky me, I could get a good cup of tea everywhere!
